This 15-day program offers an unforgettable journey through the Central High Atlas mountains, traditional Berber villages, Izourar Lake, and the Valley of Roses. The adventure combines hiking, cultural immersion, and nature exploration with eco-friendly practices. Participants will experience panoramic mountain views, pristine valleys, local traditions, and authentic Berber hospitality. Accommodations include traditional guesthouses and wilderness bivouacs.

Tour Plan

Day 1: Arrival in Marrakech
  • Arrival in Marrakech, airport welcome, and transfer to your hotel. Evening free to rest after your journey.

Day 2: Marrakech – Zaouiat Oulmzi
  • Morning departure from Marrakech after breakfast. Drive southeast through fertile plains and Berber villages toward the Central High Atlas. Visit traditional Berber villages such as Ait Mhend. Arrive at Zaouiat Oulmzi (1900 m) for a night in a natural bivouac.
    Activities: Walking around the village, meeting locals, and enjoying the peaceful mountain environment.
    Distance: ~270 km

Day 3: Zaouiat Oulmzi - Izourar Lake - Tabant
  • Hike through scenic mountains, cedar forests, and Berber villages. Visit Izourar Lake (2000 m) for lunch and continue to Tabant (1800 m) for overnight in a local guesthouse.
    Hiking Duration: 5–6 hours
    Meals: Lunch by the lake, dinner at the guesthouse

Day 4: Tabant - Agouti - Ikis - Arous (2250 m)

Mule-assisted trek through the Mgoun Valley, passing terraced fields and wildflower meadows. Stop in Agouti (1780 m) and Ikis (2000 m) before reaching Arous for a bivouac.
Meals: Traditional Berber dinner prepared locally

Day 5: Arous - Tizi-n-Oumeskiyq (2909 m) - Tarkaddiyt Plateau (2990 m)

Follow the Assif n-Arous River, ascend the Tizi-n-Oumeskiyq pass, and reach Tarkaddiyt Plateau for a bivouac under the stars.
Hiking Duration: 6–7 hours
Meals: Lunch en route, dinner at the bivouac

Day 6: Tarkaddiyt - Oullilimt (2900 m)
  • Ascend M’Goun Summit (4071 m) for panoramic views, then descend along the Assif n-Oullilimt River to Oullilimt for a night in a bivouac.
    Hiking Duration: 6–7 hours
    Meals: Lunch on the trail, dinner at bivouac

Day 7: Oullilimt - Tighremt n’Ait Ahmed - Taghreft (2150 m)

Descend along the Assif M’Goun River, visiting remote Berber villages and terraced fields. Overnight bivouac at Taghreft.

Hiking Duration: 6–7 hours

Day 8: Taghreft - Taghzout (1900 m)

Trek through valleys, cultivated fields, and walnut forests. Arrive at Taghzout for a bivouac.
Hiking Duration: 5–6 hours

Day 9: Tarzout - Tiranimine (1790 m) - Aguerzaka (1730 m)

Explore the Assif M’Goun gorges, walking along the river, and visit villages Tarzout and Tiranimine. Overnight at Aguerzaka bivouac.

Hiking Duration: 6–7 hours

Day 10: Aguerzaka - Issoumar (1680 m) - Boutaghrar (1580 m)

Descend through terraced gardens and rose fields, visit Issoumar, and reach Boutaghrar for overnight in bivouac or guesthouse.
Hiking Duration: 6 hours

Day 11: Boutaghrar - Tourbist n’Ait Said

Follow Assif M’Goun River, visit local Berber villages, and bivouac at Tourbist n’Ait Said (1700 m).
Hiking Duration: 5–6 hours

Day 12: Tourbist n’Ait Said - Kelaat M’Gouna

Hike toward the famous Valley of Roses, passing Berber villages and terraced fields. Overnight in Kelaat M’Gouna in a guesthouse or bivouac.

Hiking Duration: 5–6 hours

Day 13: Kelaat M’Gouna - Marrakech

Drive back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and Tizi-n-Tichka Pass. Visit Atlas Film Studios and Kasbah Taourirt en route. Overnight in Marrakech.

Driving Duration: 4–5 hours
Meals: Lunch in Ouarzazate, dinner in Marrakech

Day 14: Marrakech - Free Day

Explore Marrakech at your own pace:

  • Morning: Medina, Saadian Palace, city walls, Saadian Tombs

  • Afternoon: Souks, artisans, and Ben Youssef Madrasa

Day 15: End of Program
